These verses came to mind this morning:
Hebrews chapter 4:
12 For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God’s sight. Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of him to whom we must give account. 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has ascended into heaven,[f] Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin. 16 Let us then approach God’s throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need.
I love these verses. The word of God is alive, his promises are true and relevant to us today! What power we have in the promises of God. Promises to never leave us or forsake us, promises of a plan for our lives and a hope for a future!
Nothing is hidden from God's sight. Our pain, our desperation, even our doubt. He is with us every step of our journey.
Our High Priest can empathize will all we endure, because He endured it first. We can be encouraged that Jesus is a friend who can understand our emotions.
We have the freedom to approach God's throne with confidence and ask for his mercy and gracy. He is faithful to give those in His perfect timing.
Psalm 27:14: Wait for the Lord. Be strong, and take heart, and wait for the Lord.
Thank you for this reminder Lisa. I needed this today.
